Connections
Luke is the brother of Sister Cleophas (Shadowhunters: 2.06). He is also Jocelyn Fairchild’s past lover (Shadowhunters 1.06), as well as the current lover of Maryse Lightwood (Shadowhunters: 3.13). In addition, Luke is Clary Fairchild’s and Simon Lewis’ friend (Shadowhunters: 1.01). Also, Olivia Wilson is his former partner on the Police Force (Shadowhunters: 2.11, 3.11). Furthermore, he was Valentine Morgenstern’s parabatai (Shadowhunters: 1.06). However, their parabatai bond was broken by Valentine when he set Luke up to be scratched by a werewolf. In addition, Valentine did this to Luke because he was jealous of Luke and Jocelyn’s relationship (Shadowhunters: 1.06).
Background
Luke was a former Shadowhunter before he was turned into a werewolf (Shadowhunters: 1.06). Upon being turned, he “sought to master his werewolf side in order to keep his loved ones safe” (Tracey 159). After being turned, he helped Jocelyn raise Clary in the mundane world and worked with the New York Police Department (Shadowhunters: 1.01). In addition, he was also for a time the Head of the New York City Werewolf Pack (Shadowhunters: 1.05, 2.18, 3.09).
Abilities
• From his time as a Shadowhunter, Luke gained the ability to fight with weapons and use hand-to-hand combat (Shadowhunters: 1.06). These abilities served him well, when he joined the New York Police Department and started investigating crimes (Shadowhunters: 1.01).
• Luke’s eyes change to a green color which signals that he is a werewolf (Shadowhunters: 1.01).
• Advanced speed when he changes into his wolf form (Shadowhunters: 1.05).
