A Comparison of Demon Summoning and "Demonic Desire" between Christopher Marlowe's, Doctor Faustus and Shadowhunters

Both Shadowhunters and Christopher Marlowe’s, Doctor Faustus contain the aspects of summoning demons and “demonic desire” (Cox 30). This comparison will focus on looking at the Valek demon, Azazel, Lilith and Asmodeus in the three seasons of Shadowhunters and showing how they compare to summoning demons and “demonic desire” (Cox 30) in Marlowe’s, Doctor Faustus. Furthermore, the topic that characters from Shadowhunters summon demons and/or make deals with them to save someone they love will be discussed.
